It is a good idea to use a torque arm when using electric hub motor on an electric bike. This torque arm is made from stainless steel (T304) and are approximately 4.0mm thickness. Bikes with hub motors require increased strength (support) at the drop outs and a torque arm serves this purpose. Very dependable. Why do you need a torque arm? Because as hard as your tire is straining to go forwards, your axle is straining to go backwards. Torque arms provide increased strength at the axle and are used to help prevent the axle from spinning out inside the drop outs. If the axle spins, then the electric wires that come out of the axle also spin and break or get stretched and pulled out of the motor. This creates a mess and is very difficult to fix. Install on the side of the axle with no wires. Torque arm main pieces are 94 mm (3.7 inches) and 55 mm (2.16 inches) long. Hole is made for 10 mm wide & will take 12 or 14 mm axles (this includes most axles). Possibly use washers (spacers) between torque arm and drop outs to get a flat fit. Thread Hose Clamp (included) through slit and around the the fork. Screw (bolt) can go through either way. In most cases you want the long piece to be toward the center of a round fork. This torque arm fits most front hubs and many rear hubs. The two main pieces of the torque arm can be on either side of each other. These torque arms were laser cut and then tumbled to have a beautiful matte finish. If you are not sure as to which style of torque arm to get, please get this style. It works on almost all bikes.
